Discovery Day!

Today was a great day on the farm! The boys and I ventured outside "early" this morning to see what Auntie Alyssa was doing over at the sheep. One of the ewe's was having her babies, so we got to stay and watch one being born...it was really neat! Austen kept saying "there's a bubble" as she was just starting out...then after I told him the baby lamb would pop out soon, he was looking for the "popping lamb"! It was amazing to watch how intent a 2.5 year old was on the whole process.

After we were done watching sheep...we ventured over to the chicken barns, where new baby chicks would be placed in a little while. Braeden enjoyed playing the the shavings that are in the barn as bedding for the chickens. It's really messy stuff! Kind of like a sand box...just WAY bigger! We were able to stay in the barn as Daddy, Opa and the truck driver "placed" the chickens in the barn. Braeden really SAW the chickens this time, and was yelling happily the whole time! I think he got a taste of the chicken feed at least once...yuck!

It was such a neat thing to see our boys "soak" it all in as they watched everyone working on the farm. I am so excited to continue watching them as they learn by our actions and example...at work as well as many other areas. May we have the strength and character to model Christ-like qualities to them.
